It’s about time for another time capsule post. ... This year started with a day trip to Florida, completely impromptu. Kyle and I wanted to, so we did. I think I’ve been carrying that energy with me the entire year. ... 2023 was a year about following my gut, saying yes to the things that felt right without hesitation. It was a year about showing up for myself and showing up for those I love. It was about leaning into what was serving me and leaving behind what wasn’t. I was more intentional than I’ve ever been. In doing so, I found that the world opened up for me in ways I haven’t experienced in a long time. I’m still learning to feel safe in the mess, but I’ve been a pretty good student. ... I partied next to the Matterhorn. I ran through the streets of Philadelphia at midnight. I multiplied my concert count by 6 times. I biked by the Met Gala. I worked at a law firm. I went onstage with no voice. I planned a trip for my parents. I went to my first pride. I blacked out. I gambled. I cooked for people. I gave away my hat. I made friends who helped me redefine friendship. I welcomed impermanence. It’s worth it anyway. ... 2023, I love you on purpose.
