Artisans in Mexico for @voguemexico 

A video series and interactive website featuring artisans and their practices stretching across three regions of Mexico. Working together with photographer @samyoukilis and writer @karinaztn, we researched and documented the work of nine artisans, artists, and designers in the North, Center, and South of the country.

 In a country with such rich and diverse cultural history, the intricate objects crafted by these master artisans carry the legacy of their ancestors into the present. ”Many understand the practice of creating artesanías as a form of resistance to the social mechanisms that intend to relegate their cultural to the past. Artesanías, then, demonstrate that the customs and objects of their ancestors are still alive.”
