The detection of the poliovirus in wastewater samples in #NewYork has one again pushed #polio onto the news. This is a timely reminder that so long as polio remains anywhere, it is a threat everywhere. We have the tools, the vaccines & the expertise to #EndPolio. Now we need the funding. That’s why @glblctzn is calling on the the international community to collectively provide $4.8 billion to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative over the next 4 years to complete eradication by the end of 2026. Cases of wild polio virus remain at historical lows globally. Now is the time to eradicate this disease once and for all.
