On this tour I had a great moment at a dinner with a young jedi that I look up to highly. Many of you know him. His music is gonna change the game. I saw a younger version of myself inside of him - with that same swag chip on his shoulder wanting to prove that he’s that dude. Because he IS that dude. We had a profound conversation over dumplings about the reasons why we do what we do. And obviously we are in very different places in our careers and the perspectives are different. But the fire that drives us remains the same. We love what we do. When you have been lucky enough to be doing this thing called music for close to two decades and you have traveled the world multiple times over to play your music in some of the most epic venues, festivals and parties all over the globe, it eventually hits you....... you really have nothing left to prove. You can finally be the most honest version of who you are. What then? The answer is simple. Fall in love with it all over again, flip another 180 on them, write a record for your own damn self, and come back to where it all began. When u start from humble beginnings and then grow and blossom as a musician to something far more than what you thought was possible, and you decide you wanna take it back to the roots and come back to the underground, it can oftentimes be a hostile place. It can be unwelcoming. But damn...... the underground STILL has our back after all these years. From the DJ’s and producers that have paid respect and sent ammo for us to play, to the promoters that provided the right rooms and sound systems to pass the vibe check, and finally to everyone who pulled up to rep the set..... From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. This tour has given me LIFE. We came back here to do this #FORTHECULTURE .
