How did you sleep last night?? The older I get, the more I treasure sleeping well. Here’s my top five How-to’s for a good night’s zzzzzz. What have I missed? Do you do these too? Have you any tips to add? Do share 💕
1. A good night’s sleep starts in the morning - a sixty second (or longer) blast of an icy cold shower helps set up our Circadian rhythm for the day (and night) ahead.
2. No coffee or dark chocolate after 2/3pm - caffeine lingers in the body making sleep harder.
3. Magnesium glycinate taken just before bedtime helps calm mind and body, it’s very relaxing.
4. Black-out blinds and earplugs reduce brain distractions. I travel with earplugs and an eyeshade...
5. Estrogen! The single most significant factor for me to guarantee a good night’s sleep (well, it is World Menopause Day next week, so had to get in a mention of HRT!!). I got my first solid night’s sleep the same evening I applied Estrogel.
Have a great day - and night! 😴 LX
PS Lots of good, free! sleep resources over on @lizearlewellbeing website, as well as money-saving offers on helpful supplements and handy items such as weighted blankets too 💕
