During studio visits, I like to ask other artists how do they know if a project is done. I got various responses from Ann Hamilton's quote "a project should lead you questions rather than answers." to "I said it's done, it's done." ​ Recently, I found an answer that is closer to my belief: There is no "done" but only "pause". People are attracted to, and will return to the things that bring them fulfillment and longing; while avoiding the opposite. There is no need to force it. There is no way to fight against it. It could be determined by all of the principles, or by none of the principles that I have been told to follow. ​ ​ Artists grow. Projects evolve. Listen carefully. Be open-minded. Sense attentively. Eventually, things will settle, time will tell, and our ocean will find its shore. I think this post will be my new moral code. 掰掰 2021. Thank you all so much for handing me a great year.
