I’ve already seen quite a few cheer zones, but the one on Bülowstrasse (during the Berlin marathon) is huge. The crews even have their own photographers in place. Just like the runners, they come from all over the world. Some are Berlin natives but I can also see @SethProfet from Amsterdam and Jason Suarez (@notafraid2fail) from Queens, New York. They are lined up in front of the cheer zone, ready for the perfect angle to catch as much of the effort, cheering and confetti as they can. If running and cheering are essential parts of running crew culture, then photographing all of that is the third part of the art. The times of amateurism are long gone.
