✨ New profile pic alert ✨ As I look at these photos I see how far I’ve come, the versions of myself I parted ways with, the ways in which I’ve transformed into someone whose five-year-old self needed (and would be proud of), who loves more deeply, who trusts generously, cares passionately, who strives to be more humble today than I was yesterday, and who honors the people (living and dead) who invested and trusted in me when I didn’t invest or trust in myself. I look at these photos and see radiating from my smile the people held my hand when I needed guidance and extended me patience and grace when I need it most. I don’t take it for granted. Who I am now in my Blackness, my queerness, my transness, with all the thoughts and feelings and commitments that remind me of my place in the legacy that our communities have left for us is a tribute to all the people who show up for me in ways I can only aspire to. I feel more affirmed and held today than I ever have and I have my community thank for being the network of support that every day provides me with the lessons and the tools to listen more carefully to my body and it’s needs. This year is for y’all. We’re manifesting all the greatness and abundance we deserve. I look at these pictures and see all of y’all and the love you’ve poured into me.
