Paeonia sideris or “la constellation des pivoines”. A piece inspired by the life of Bernard and Danièle Pacaud and their restaurant @ambroisieparis 🥄 A beautifully written story by Frédéric Laffont in the book “Une vie par le Menu”. This painting came to me after reading it in one go, fascinated by the moving, intense and humble episodes of Bernard Pacaud’s life. I wanted to represent the passionate and dedicated couple, their passion and commitment in choosing the best quality, from the produces to the cutlery, as well as their sensitivity and poetry in paying attention to every little details (read the book for more insights on peonies). I’m still very moved by the words of Frédéric Laffont I just read, the peaceful and resilient nature of the chef described in the book and my only dream righty now is to run to Paris and try Bernard Pacaud’s chocolate tart with Bourbon vanilla ice cream in Place des Vosges 🍨 Merci to my dear friend @emilienemilien for this thoughtful and inspiring gift 📙 Paeonia sideris 30x42cm Collage, oil pastels and paint on handmade paper
