“Smell the Fucking Roses” Aliétte SS23 💐 I’ve known Jason for two years now, and outside of his virtuous modesty, one thing i’ve always appreciated about him is his love for women; especially Black women. Aliétte was named after Jason’s mother, and his beautiful daughter Harper. Harper’s influence over the collection was my favorite: scarlet ladybugs scattered across the flowered patterns. Truly grateful to be a part of a show that felt like an ode to the matriarch. From the name “Aliétte”, to the silhouettes they bring to life, to the powerhouses they style- Aliétte continues to show up as a brand for daring, confident, and bold women. Bosses, if you will. Thank you Jason for reminding me to see myself in that light. P.S.
