AMINA. Who else has captured the shoe world more in the past few years? @aminamuaddi has become her own pop culture force, with a powerhouse social media presence that rivals the celebs who wear her heels. Women want to buy her shoes — and they want to be her. But underneath that glossy image, there’s a lot of grit and tenacity. For the @footwearnews September issue, I caught up with Amina to find out more about what it’s taken to build her empire in just four short years (and remain independent). She’s an inspiration to anyone looking to build a brand from scratch - but especially for women and minorities. I appreciated how candid she was about just how tough it has been to build her business and how she nearly gave up a few times along the way. All the while making it look so cool (another reminder for us all that Instagram is not reality). We were also able to do a full shoot with Amina for the story, in Paris, along with the brilliant @dfsablon . The result is this amazing cover shot of Amina in a @marcjacobs fall ‘22 look that I think fully captures her role as the reigning queen of shoes. Link in bio to read the cover story.
