What an Oscars weekend! I’ve only just made it back to London, so it’s taken me a few days to post my first picture. On the Thursday before the Oscars themselves, we hosted our inaugural “Novel Food Lunch” - with an entire menu designed and served by Chef Matt Kenney, the world’s leading chef of animal-free foods. I had the honour of hosting the event together with SOSV, Uma Thurman, Liam Payne, Paul Wesley & Questlove. The menu consisted solely of plant-, fermentation- and cell-based foods. A large number of the products which were served aren’t even on the market yet, so our guests had a pre-taste of the food revolution which is about to happen. But as much as it was a gastronomic celebration, the lunch had a serious purpose too. Industrial animal farming accounts for at least 17% of global CO2 emissions (!) AND creates unspeakable pain and suffering for animals.
