Today I celebrated my sisters bday the way I would if she were here. I imagined how I’d spend the day with her if she was visiting me. I cruised the city on my bike listening to all her favorite music and finished my route on Belle Isle. I ended up having to hitch a ride home from an off duty Detroit police officer after getting stuck in a terrible storm while biking the bridge out. Typically would never get into a car with a stranger, however, I felt like this person was sent to me by her. She was keeping me safe. I’m pretty sure she would find it funny that I was enjoying a smoke in her honor and had to get a ride home from the police directly after. Thank you my angel! Happy birthday, we miss you everyday.
