Last week, I had the chance to host an intimate conversation with designer, DJ and fashion archivist Jordan Page, to discuss his latest collaboration with his brand Colour Plus Company and legendary workwear fixture Caterpillar live at the @atmos_usa store in my hometown of Philadelphia, PA.
We had a chance to talk about inspirations for the collection, such as how his concept of uniformity was inspired from his father and grandfather’s work gear growing up in High Point, North Carolina, how social media influences today’s style trends and how he manages to share his perspectives on both classic and new fashion on his infamous archive page @VeryAdvanced, DJing for himself rather than the crowd and more.
I’ve been a fan and support of Jordan’s perspectives on the culture of fashion for a long time, and while it was great to hear about how his meticulousness and attention to detail is manifested in his latest project, it was really cool to be able to chop it up with an old friend. And to be able to have that convo in the very same storefront where I learned about the culture of streetwear almost 20 years ago as a teenager was a very full circle moment for me that I won’t forget for a while.
Much love to Jordan, the Caterpillar team and ATMOS for all the love and support, special shoutout to my girl Marissa (@yolo_ono)on reconnecting after all these years away from Walnut Street, and be sure to cop up from the first of what’s to be a bunch of incredible drops from the Colour Plus Company. 🛠️🧱🥭
Peep the last slide to see 19-year-old Cory live from the UBIQ days. He’d think this was mad cool. ✌🏾
