For London Design Week - opening Tuesday 20th - 'Jelly Salad' by @bethanlaurawood, is on display⁠ at the new Christopher Farr studio space in East London: 18 Calvin Street, E1 6HF, part of @ShoreditchDT⁠ @l_d_f_official⁠ .⁠ Tues 20th - Sat 24th Sept, 10:00 - 18:00.⁠ .⁠ In developing the rug, Christopher Farr co-founder Matthew Bourne knew that the piece had to be non-conformist, and suggested devising a hooked rug design. Wood was inspired by the American roots of the technique and delved into the world of Jell-o.⁠ .⁠ “I love the weird mix of natural and processed in the universe of the ‘Jelly Salad’, and its connection to the popular culture and changes in domestic landscape. When the hook rug samples reminded me of cut savoy cabbage I thought the two could be a perfect recipe together to create a fun family of carpets.” Bethan Laura Wood
