BRISTOL! We are coming to you! Thanks to @mthrel and Nicola Beech who have worked their socks off to make it happen. You will gather from 10.30am at College Green and the rally will start at 11am with these cracking folk speaking: Nura Aabe is a psychologist by training and the founder of Autism Independence (AI). For years Nura has challenged the system to be culturally responsive for the autism community. Nicola Beech is a Bristol Councillor for St George Central. Having had both her children while being elected, she has challenged many barriers to women in politics. Kirsty Hammond is one of the leads at the Heart of BS13, a social enterprise motivating children, young people and adults across Hartcliffe towards better health. Helen Ince is a disabled mother who had her first child at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following much the same struggles as many new mums under lockdown, she has faced employment and childcare systems that work for none but the wealthiest of parents. Helen is now working for Bristol Women’s Voice as a community organiser, engaging and empowering disabled women across Bristol. Charlie Rosier is Co-founder & CEO of Babbu- the UK’s first online nurseryTM; designed to support, reassure and empower parents and their children in the first critical few years. @darrenjonesmp has been the Labour MP for Bristol North West since 2017 where he lives with his wife and two children. Darren chairs the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee where he works to hold the Government to account on issues such as workers rights, business policy and how to improve our laws and regulations. You will then set off on your March at about 11.40 winding your way through town chanting until you get back to College Green. There will be face painters but don’t forget your banners and your outfits. It’s going to be a smasher. Are you coming? #marchofthemummies
