Right before things went very sideways (literally) for @keegels99 and me. It’s no secret that this @lifetimegrandprix has been an uphill battle for me all year. It’s been one setback after the next, with damage control now a well-practiced mindset. The thing I’m learning about a 7 month long series though is that if you just keep showing up, taking the hits, and hunting down every placing possible, you can overcome a lot of setbacks. Crashing out of the lead group of @cheqmtb was my “cleanest” race yet—but consistently racing through every finish line no matter the circumstances has me sitting 6th overall, 2 points off 5th, and 7 points off that top 3 podium. While pulling back that 7 pt deficit in the final round at @bigsugargravel is a long shot, this whole year has been a long shot. I’ve felt progressively stronger at every race, and am so fired up to lock in for a final month of hard training in anticipation of giving it my all one more time this season. What an awesome opportunity this new series has been. I think I speak for many of my competitors when I say the Grand Prix has been massively motivating as an athlete, and inspired us to up our game this year.
