#ad21+ As part of the @makersmark “Toast to Remarkable NYC” program, I was commissioned to create my own personal toast to the City through a public artwork. “Open Invitation” is an interactive installation that offers my fellow New Yorkers a shared space to meet up and relax. Inspired by the city’s iconic brownstone stoops that serve as sites for spontaneous social gatherings, I wanted to create a public stoop for anyone and everyone. Intended to embody the interconnected experience of city living, this hexagonal artwork is open and welcoming from all sides.
