My oldest brother told me you couldnt make money doing art. He said it to me all thru middle school and high school. Granted, in 2006ish social media and being able to get in front of people organically online to the global community wasn't really a possibility yet and there was a big gap between being an artist and making a living but like... DO YOU THINK HE COULDA SAID THIS: "hey going into art as a profession is a little risky, maybe have a fallback skill to lean on until you're profitable" No. He didn't. and I even brought this up to him recently and HE DIDNT EVEN REMEMBER SAYING THIS TO ME!!
