ERROR·Restart Exhibition 
Liu Weiyi (b. 1993, Henan Province, China) describes her artistic inspiration as such: “Wherever I look at, there is the discourse happening around me. To observe the female body, life, feelings and spirit from a feminine, delicate and sensitive perspective. My works discuss the tension and relationship between me and my self, men and women, humans and objects. Despite focusing on the details, they avoid any specific suggestion, allowing the viewer’s thought to drift in an open-ended circle of perception.” Liu Weiyi recounts her life experience as a woman to all the women, showing equality in her painterly approach. It is private, not transgressing against any person but zooming in onto the female bodies which show at the diversity of beauty. What people are wearing symbolizes their desire. Material desires, once it is attached to a certain gender, is often stigmatized with negative connotations.
