I have been lucky enough to play some of the most epic rooms all across Los Angeles. But last Friday just hit different. Months ago when we began talking about our LA tour stop, it was important for us to do something different for the culture. It was important to have the right party promoter behind us that had cultural significance to what’s happening on the ground level in Los Angeles (@systemerrorlive ). It was important to have the right room that could pass the vibe check (@1720warehouse ). And it was also important to have a full lineup of artists from Los Angeles that represent the full history, lineage and mythology of Los Angeles underground rave culture. From @baseck (The veteran OG) to @opencourts to @annamorgandj (the new guard), it was important for us to show that these artists, and these sounds (which have existed long before most of you have been born), have helped pave the way for the American festival rave culture that we know today. Before the race track massives, the LED walls, the cryo cannons, the flame throwers, the lazers, the corporate sponsorships and the over the top production there were multiple map points and illegal warehouses, ski mountain massives and desert raves where we got tear gassed and shot at with rubber bullets by the cops in San Bernardino county. All of these mementos from the past have helped to shape the modern landscape of American festival rave culture. #CTRLALTREALITY is our love letter to those simpler and cuttier times when it was just about the tunes, the sound system, the energy and the people that made up the community. I just wanna give a big thank u to @systemerrorlive @tony_merino @archangel @1720warehouse for trusting in the vision. And thank u to everyone who pulled up to rave with us.
