This is the last week to catch my solo show ‘You were, You are and You always will be’ @tiwanicontemporary Lagos! I can’t help but reminisce over my experience this summer. I wanted to share my appreciation and thank everybody who supported me during my stay in Lagos. @ofem.ubi laying amongst my works in progress at the time. Thank you for being the best resident artist I could ever share a space with alongside @mariamhaslam who I sadly only spent time with during the last week of my stay but the time we did spend together was wonderful . I couldn’t ask to share @gasfoundation space with anyone better honestly. Also @kunle_boye the best of the best host, thank you for making us jollof many a time and being there when we needed it! Thank you to the @tiwanicontemporary Lagos team for supporting me and choosing me to be your first ever resident in collab with @gasfoundation and for your overall support before and beyond! 🤎 Thank you to the sibling duo @island.sunsets and @olabassey for making me feel so comfortable during filming, giving me free food and just being such a vibe. I hope during my next visit we can meet up again and finally have amala together. Thank you @gasfoundation for hosting me, Lola Shinibare is an amazing architect the building is beautiful and it was a pleasure to have my final meal in Lagos at her equally beautiful home. Finally to every single person who made it to the opening of the show, @nengiomuku sharing kind insightful words and meeting the legend @kainebiosahenye, these were only some of the highlights as well as the many beautifully honest conversations I had and the amazing friends I’ve made. Lastly all those who have messaged me and are still messaging me I appreciate you all. Sometimes it gets really hard to respond to everyone and I apologise for my delays and forgetfulness but I am so damn appreciative of all the love I have received.
