On December 20, 2024, our community suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of Dr. Dave Provorse, beloved associate professor of psychology at Washburn University, and his wife, Marcia. Dr. Provorse dedicated 34 years to Washburn, inspiring and guiding countless students while profoundly shaping the mental health field in Kansas. As department chair for 13 of those years and recipient of the prestigious Ned Fleming Excellence in Teaching Award, his legacy of leadership, mentorship, and compassion will live on through the students and professionals he impacted. Dave and Marcia touched countless lives and will be missed beyond words.
