[1/2] I’ve been lucky. Too many ways to count but working in the automotive industry and being able to shoot some really incredible automotive events is certainly one way. I'm also an enthusiast, I love the culture that surrounds the automotive world. It’s made working an automotive event a blessing and a curse; I get to go to cool stuff but I take with me a shot list and a schedule so rigid the only thing I’m guaranteed is a badge of attendance and a blur of some faint memories. Every once and a while I go to and shoot something automotive just for me. Just for fun. Until this year, the @concorsodeleganza_vde has been at the top of a long list of events to experience in just that way. So I decided to go. I stayed in a $74/night @airbnb near the supermarket in Cernobbio (it was delightful BTW), I walked or took the bus everywhere and I paid for everything I could in points. I did so for two reasons 1. Because @alexandracal is a saint for letting me take a weekend trip to Italy without her so it had to be cheap and 2. The lack of expense or client deliverables allowed me to blindly follow the meandering pathways to nowhere without a hint of delivery anxiety. In this instance it has given way to some of my favorite automotive photography that’s not really even about the cars. It’s about the people and relationships they share with the cars.
