#Spotlight | ‘A Passion for Form: New Perspectives’ Cape Town-based artist Zizipho Poswa imbues her colourful ceramics with ‘bold declarations of African womanhood’. Inspired by traditions she witnessed throughout her childhood, particularly Xhosa rituals that amplify the important role women play in everyday life. Her sculptures take on monumental dimensions, mimicking the heavy loads women carry throughout their lives. The artist is part of the upcoming event ‘New Perspectives’, a panel discussion between Andrés Monzón-Aguirre, Anina Major and Zizipho Poswa, moderated by Isabella Smith and presented in collaboration with ‘Crafts’ Magazine and the Crafts Council.
