Nobody knows healthcare better than you do. Healthcare workers continue to be our greatest innovators, our most dynamic problem solvers, and our most inspiring role models. Yet, too many are suffering — mentally, physically, and financially — and it’s impacting our entire healthcare system. As a society, we HAVE to fix this. We need actual policy change so that our country can finally address the issues that you have been confronting since long before the pandemic. You must be paid fairly. Your mental health must be valued and protected. You must be kept safe. Your workplace must have standards that allow you to provide your best care. We must provide training so that our brightest minds will keep choosing careers in healthcare. To advocate for change, this week we took nine Awesome Humans from different healthcare fields to Capitol Hill and the White House to gather support for the Awesome Humans Bill — comprehensive legislation that FIGS is creating to address the most pervasive issues facing our healthcare community. This was an important step, and we’re not going to stop until there’s real change.
