I get asked a lot why I run - why I *choose* to do marathons and 30 mile+ week training cycles.
Number one, because I enjoy it - but also because, number two, it makes my body and π§ feel good. Exercise, for me, is self care - it keeps me grounded, calm and focused, and helps me continue to learn, develop and grow as a person. Nobody finds 6am wake up alarms fun, but the endorphin buzz (not to mention sense of achievement) after an early class or run is irreplaceable.
Exercise has shown me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it, with a little hard work and grit. If I can survive a 37 mile ultramarathon in the snow... I can survive whatever life throws at me.
I saw this quote on @greykins Instagram the other day and it sums it up pretty well for me. βI hope you have the confidence to be you and courage to pursue what you want with no regrets. I hope you genuinely smile and laugh, with or without reason. I hope you keep learning and keep growing as a human being. I hope you keep pushing forwards. I hope you achieve or continue to achieve inner peace, and I hope you love yourself for all you are and all that you are becoming.β π€π
My next learning curve? @chimarathon - t minus 6 weeks π― Whatβs yours? #seetheworld
