As a maker of sound & images, A.k.a. what you people call an artist, There may come a time in one’s life where one realizes there’s more to the Craft and more to the position one holds then simply reacting, Reacting out of upset & anger, Creating a deconstruction, More than creating work to get an applause from drooling sycophants...more than a gag, if you will. There are Dreams worth more than money, there is work worth more than fleeting accolades, work that outlives it’s maker. For me, Stepping into this new phase after a 4-5 year hiatus meant encountering these very realizations. Where the tools learned as a child Are heightened and sharpened, where goals are replaced by a calling, & where reactions turn to contributions, contributions to the greater good. So as my first work as I hit this new stride is nearing it’s release, I taste success. That I bestow upon myself and my collaborators, a ‘sis, you really did that’ not given unto me by anyone else. So this is my spark in the night, my glimmer of something else, the lesson that beyond what we are all taught, everything is changeable, we move within our own work, & sometimes you need to make your own medicine..
