So many of the things I know and the players I respect know were pioneered by Jeff Beck. He wrote the playbook. There was no greater thrill than getting to play with him. As exhilarating as it was, it was twice as humbling. I keep going back and listening to his playing on that tune “Let It Be Me” from his latest record. His playing on that one is gut wrenching.
