Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! We're celebrating by speaking with Barbizon models & actors about their Hispanic heritage & how it relates to the modeling & acting industry! 🎉 Meet Barbizon Tampa grads & brother & sister duo Aaliyah & Ozzie Ruiz: Their background ❧ Our dad is Hispanic and our mom is white so we get to learn both heritages. Our dad is from Albuquerque, NM and his mom (our Nana) are both born and raised in NM, but our great-grandfather's parents were from Spain. So, we have Spanish & New Mexico roots. Being Hispanic to us means that we are very family- oriented and celebrate loved ones very closely. 🇪🇸🇲🇽🇺🇸 On traditions ❧ We celebrate Cinco De Mayo - in a large celebration of Mexico's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. We also like to celebrate with family in large fashions for any holiday or event and always cook instead of cater food. It is a lot of work. We prep and cook traditional legacy meals for events. Foods like enchiladas, we roast green & red chillies and cook desserts. Our Nana has a special cookie recipe that was passed down from her granny that we love, and we will one day then pass it down to our kids with homemade cookies and homemade icing. 🌶️🍪🫔 On role models in the modeling & acting industry ❧ We have looked up to Selena and loved her music and story of how she made it into the singing and modeling and acting world. It is sad how she was lost too soon. 🎤Also, we like Michael Peña because he is always funny in his movies. Actors and models who have Hispanic & Latin backgrounds have a different sound and features that give more options and accents even if they are born and raised in the U.S. which for modeling and acting is always cool for the variety. 🌟🎭 What they want to see more of in the industry as it relates to their heritage ❧ We would like to see more family-oriented modeling and showing off [Hispanic heritage] types of clothing and culture so that way the pretty dresses and suits that used to be worn more often do not get forgotten about. 💃🏾🧡 . . . . . . #Barbizonmodel #Barbizonactor #hispanicheritage #modeling #acting #modelingindustry #actingindustry #model #actor
