This really meant a lot to me. I’ve been thinking about this kind of stuff A LOT lately. What is my legacy? Have I made an impact? What is there going to be for my kids to see when I’m done? This message from @jim_sharp_uk really hit the heart for a few reasons. I think it takes a big person to give another person a compliment, especially when they are in the same field. Most won’t. Most are either too shy, don’t care or ego will get the best of them. When someone you respect gives you a compliment like this, it really resonated & then got me thinking about my legacy again. I’ve been around the world, done thousands of events, been on commercial radio for over 20 years & I’ve done so much stuff under the radar that I’ve watched others get credit for & I just kept it moving. I’ve never stopped to smell the roses & I probably won’t. I’ve always been about the music, my love for the music, my love for creating music, my love of watching people enjoy themselves to those creations. Being famous, being the center of attraction has never been a goal or something that I’ve been comfy with. I do what I do because I LOVE it. I’ve created tons of events/shows & most would never know it was me because you just see me playing the music & there’s usually someone else in the forefront that becomes the face of the event. That’s cool. It has been bothering me a little more now that I’m getting older & truth be told, my career has an expiration date, whether I like it or not (I don’t btw lol). It’s just not in my nature to be the “I did this” & “It was ME that actually did this” person but maybe I should be, now. We will see lol. To all the DJs, partygoers, promoters, etc, if I’ve had a positive effect on you in your lifetime & if I’ve done something to inspire you or make you smile, that makes me happy. I’m still not really sure exactly what my legend/legacy will be when I’m not doing this anymore but I definitely want to be recognized as someone that really made a difference. I feel I have. When I make my push for the Canada’s Walk Of Fame, I’ll be asking for your help 😊 (kidding but maybe not....) Love to you all & thank you all for continuously inspiring me.
