As a travel writer, I’ve been lucky enough to embark on some incredible adventures over the past decade. Even so, e-biking over 7 days along Switzerland’s high passes, turquoise blue lakes, traditional villages and majestic Alpine scenery definitely makes it to my top 5! 👉🏼 I’m in complete awe of the Swiss Mobility Network - a network of cycling / hiking trails (with no or minimal motorised transport) across the country. Our cycling route 1291, which clubbed different cycling trails, was brilliantly signposted throughout. 👉🏼 I must confess I was quite worried about our ability to cycle up Alpine mountain passes, day after day - but our Swiss-made @flyerbikes ebikes were just brilliant, with upto 100 km battery life in eco mode. This long distance cycling trip is challenging but totally doable with moderate fitness level! 👉🏼 The 1291 e-biking route has been curated by @eurotrekaktiv such that no two days feel the same. The landscape kept changing from dramatic mountain panoramas to lakeside villages to rolling meadows to wheat and maize fields to stark karst mountains to gushing rivers to glaciers to farming villages with no paved roads to protected forests. I’ve probably never uttered “wow” so many times in a week 😉 Long story short, if you ever have the chance to experience Switzerland on an e-bike, grab it. So grateful to @myswitzerland @myswitzerlandin for turning what seemed like a crazy proposition just a few weeks ago, into an unforgettable memory 💚
