#HelloWorld “I like making mechanical and otherworldly characters and items that could all fit in some idealistic world in my head.” —3D artist @garonganut (Kai Shinomura) Kai’s characters marry the cuteness of anime and fluffy creatures with the aesthetic of the see-through plastic technology trend, popular in the early 2000s. “I tend to lean towards jumbo, beautiful eyes bearing a certain shape. I also like to imply a hyper-detailed nature in each piece without having the entire piece’s composition to become noisy and cluttered. Each piece takes from one to 12 weeks. For every piece that takes longer than a couple weeks, about half of them do not materialize into a finished work,” says Kai. “The digital environment excites me as at any given day I can wake up to a follow or message from an entity that I would have never expected. The ability to find new people and amazing artists never seems to slow. The collaborative potential as you find new artists is almost overwhelming.” Art by @garonganut
