After more than 4 years leading @hollywoodreporter’s e-commerce section, my role as cut during the first round of September layoffs. What started as a one-woman show grew into a tiny but mighty team that brought in well over 7 figures in revenue last year (and then some). But beyond the numbers, I’m so immensely proud of my work and our awesome team, and of how our efforts helped support our newsroom and shine a light on shoppable businesses big and small. Sometimes the universe — and let’s face it, an incredibly challenging media landscape and economy — set you on a new path, and I’m excited for the open road ahead. Anyway, here are just a handful of print and online stories that I loved reporting and writing this last year, including some that were outside of my e-comm lane. More to come as I get sentimental and dig out some never-before-seen gems from my camera roll… (and believe me, I did my best to find out where @thewhitelotus S4 is going!)
