Our feet have hundreds of muscles tendons and ligaments with every single one having a purpose adapted to locomotion. The problem is those muscles, tendons, and ligaments atrophy when we baby them with cushioned shoes or lack of movement. So, how do we combat this? At least twice a week make a conscious effort to be barefoot for at least 20 minutes. Specifically focus on using those arches, toes and muscles as you move. Or invest in a pair of barefoot shoes like @vivobarefoot that make your feet work and increase your foot strength at the same time. NOTE: your feet may be a little be sore at first especially if you’re used to wearing conventional sneakers, but like any type of strength training, this is all part of the process! #phasesix #barefoot #foothealth
