"A little film that shows a neat glimpse of aspirations and good times , for us the only way to go was 16mm. I immediately thought of the "Sixteen Candles", "Grease" and "American Graffiti" while coming up with the Look of the project. What i loved most was the fact that the entire crew was committed to creating the best product possible. With a very small budget we could only afford to shoot and develop the film so we called in favors in which we are so grateful for. Last but not least, the staff and the students were extremely helpful and cooperative throughout the entire filming process. The students saw the vision and bought into it immediately which was them sacrificing their fun for us. HUGE shoutout to Harlem Village Academy as we want to wish their students much success in their future endeavors." ⠀ Director David Williams was asked to document the Harlem Village Academies Class of 2022 prom, capturing the penultimate experience for these kids that have been in this school since grade one. He and @onlunchbreak chose to shoot on 500T & 250D 16m with DP @sammysuh, who shot using an Aaton XTR Prod w/ a Bolex S16 with Zeiss SuperSpeeds.
