As we reflect during this holiday season lets please include the women in Iran. For decades, gender inequality and discrimination against them have been legally enshrined in Iran. An Open Letter from Global Women Leaders & Advocates Urging UN Member States to Heed the Call of Iranian Women and Remove the Islamic Republic of Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women was signed earlier this month. This is an important step. However as the people in Iran rightfully protest for their basic rights, hundreds continue to be killed and many many more tortured and imprisoned everyday.
