PSA. Cause I wish someone told me this stuff when I started.⁣ ⁣ •Learn your zones, controlling your breathing and holding your pace without needing to look at heart rate or power. Probably the most important thing⁣ •Eat a ton. Especially on the bike when you’re doing long hard days.⁣ •It’s about balance. If you’re burnt out/sick/injured take some time to figure it out right away. Missing a week or two isn’t going to kill you but hold yourself accountable so it doesn’t keep happening.⁣ •Build up fitness slowly there’s no shortcuts. This sport takes years to build your body so train for that. You can test yourself but don’t jump off the couch and go so deep into the red that you’re coughing and sick. •Work on something so you aren’t just wasting time. Practice descending and hitting your corners on your chill rides.⁣ •RIDE YOUR BIKE A TON doesn’t mater what you’re doing you’re going to improve if you’re on a bike 5 days a week. PRs and those 100 miles rides will come easy if you’re consistent.⁣ ⁣ •Bonus for cyclists who know this stuff. Unless you are doing this for a living, do something outside of bikes. No one cares how fast you are if you can’t hold a conversation 😂
