BIRMINGHAM! We are coming to you!! Please note the change of location (v.important) due to Christmas market build (it’s blooming October! You must have some fancy Christmas markets in Birmingham.) This will be a rally starting at 10.50am on Edgbaston Street. Sadly, there won’t be a march (due to aforementioned Christmas markets), but the rally will be a cracker! Things kick off with Heart Radio presenter @radiogemmahill who is a first time mum to 18 month old, Bonnie. Gemma was lucky that on maternity leave she was really supported by her boss & she was covered on air by the one and only @mother_pukka. She wishes her positive experience could be universal but she knows it isn’t. Kate Lloyd is a leadership coach who supports women (& increasingly men) to navigate the topsy turvy, life changing journey into parenthood & it’s impact on their careers. @priyachauhanuk is a mother of 2, presenter & journalist. She has been an advocate for mothers since she realised the abhorrent disparities in the system through her own lives experience. @fionasmalls is a proud mother of 2 and the founder of the award-winning @youngmumssupportnetwork. @jeszemmahowl is head of training @fatherhoodinst. Dedicated to gender equality in parenting she talks and writes about better parental leave systems and the reframing of childcare. @stevemccabemp has been the MP for Birmingham Selly Oak since 1997. Before that he trained as a social worker and worked with young offenders. The event will finish at around 12 midday with a magnificent performance by @shechoirbirmingham and some chanting.
