Over the past few years of relocating to a new place after surviving loss, my neighbor had lost her husband...We lived next door to each other and we never had the chance to talk, and when she was ready, we made time to become friends. As devastating as it is to lose a loved one, partner or friend, you will always find support and solace in another...sometimes in unexpected ways. The power of human connection is transformational. Grief changes you, softens you and completely opens your eyes to a different way of being and experiencing life. Jessica never had anyone apply makeup to her and I was happy to get to know her and teach her the power of makeup. In exchange, she cooked and shared amazing recipes from her home in Sicily...we spent many nights laughing together and learning. She has a beautiful soul and an amazing life ahead of her. Those we love are never truly gone from us and live in our hearts forever.
