On this day 40 years ago the BLK Art Group formed in Wolverhampton- with Artists : Eddies Chambers , Dominic Dawes ,Claudette Johnson , Wenda Leslie , Ian Palmer, Keith Piper , Donald Rodney ,Marlene Smith . An invitation to partake in this momentus occasion was proudly accepted . The photo was inspired by the photo a great day in Harlem where the Jazz musicians of the day gathered and was taken by Art Kane . The Brixton photo taken by Legendary photographer Charlie Phillips assisted by Eddie The Black artist group inspired young Black artists Nationally & Internationally . The legacy of the struggle , dialogue and door opening inspired generations to come . The waves of artist to follow are in awe and indebted to what the artist were able to open up as a legacy for those to follow .
