ERROR·Restart Exhibition Yang Guang (b. Chao’an, Guangdong) is the Artistic Director of urban landscape planning and design department at Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen, and a council member of China Sculpture Institute. His sculptures take inspiration from electronic waste such as wire and circuit board, tracing back to his experience at his hometown which is located next to an e-waste disposal plant. Naturally, he has grown entangled feelings about electronic waste, prompting him to weave and reshape the materials into plants and fruit forms. They imply a mutually encroaching and counteracting relationship between organic and inorganic matters in the environment. Meanwhile, in the same process, electronic waste is granted new meanings that are disparate from their originally practical and functional roles. Perhaps in this process, a new life form can also be given birth. 大风 Heavy wind Wood, electronic waste 120 × 110 × 125 cm 2019 有机生活 Organic Life Used wire 40 × 35 × 27 cm 2021 有机生活 Organic Life Used wire 40 × 30 × 28 cm 2021 有机生活 Organic Life Used wire 23 × 23 × 17cm 2021 Yang Guang’s works are currently on view in group exhibition ERROR·Restart until August 13th, 2022 at Fir Gallery Beijing. #contemporaryart #artist #gallery #everydaygallery #firgallery #artofinstagram #artgallery #artdaily #artoftheday #beijinggallery #YangGuang
