This ain’t my first rodeo • • • The end of summer is here and everyone is going home. At the end of my fourth summer I’m looking back at all of them and I just want to say thank you. To anyone and everyone I had the pleasure of working with thank you! God moves in this place and He chose you to be a part of that. I’ve seen God work miracles here! I’ve seen kids give their life to Christ; I’ve seen depression, shame, and fear be washed away in the waters of Hope and Love. I want to reminisce for a second so let’s walk down memory lane: My friends in 2017, you walked alongside me as I was learning how to serve. My first summer was so incredible and it’s crazy to think that was six years ago! Thanks for putting up with me. I miss y’all all the time! 2018, y’all taught me so much about selfless community and it was one of the greatest summers of my life! I can’t express all the joy I have in my heart when I look back on that summer. I met Zach Ross in 2018 and I hope to live up to his example of vulnerability and strength. In 2019 I began to learn to stop hiding and be who God created me to be. There’s so much freedom in that y’all! Shout out to being super itchy every mud night. This year I took on a new role and even though I wasn’t on the front line as a counselor I still saw God move so much. The counselors this year overcame so much! The devil works, but God works so much harder! My fellow ropers became some of my best friends I’ve ever made. I loved pouring out into this community and I hope I did a good job. I didn’t think it was possible, but God brought me back to Camp and I can’t express my thankfulness enough. There are more adventures to come, and as I look back I want to say to everyone I’ve had the honor of serving with: I love you, I miss you, and remember that God is smiling on you everyday!
