New York City 🗽 is in the midst of redrawing the boundaries of the city council districts to account for population changes during the previous decade. Hispanics once again have an opportunity to increase their political representation in the City Council. 🗳 In order to inform this process and to encourage a broad involvement from the public, CENTRO released a study on demographic changes that have taken place in New York City between 2010 and 2020. We track changes at the city, borough and council district levels, capturing changes by ethnic and racial groups, including population dynamics among different Hispanic national origin groups. 📊 We also created a New York City Redistricting Dashboard 🔎 that displays population data like socio-demographic information on median household income, language proficiency and a breakdown of Hispanic ethnicity.
