Meaning ‘Speak Up’ in Yoruba, the native tongue of her Mother and late Father, SORO SOKE revisits the revolutionary soul of British Nigerians whose fusion of cultures shaped their communities in the late 60s and 70s. The untold stories of key contributors to Black social justice movements, namely the designer's own father, take centre stage, as Coker explores the worlds of music, film and fashion. The result is a dynamic collection echoing the elegance of 'Sunday's Best' while teasing the sophistication of traditional Nigerian craftsmanship.
