THIS brunch spot was definitely worth the drive down to Hermosa Beach.🥰 @eat_ryla opened earlier this year just up the street from the Hermosa Beach Pier. Chef @raycooksclams hails from @chefdlefevre’s restaurants. His restaurant’s Japanese-influenced menu of delicious-sounding cocktails, Loco Moco and Japanese pancake was enough to lure me to the South Bay. EVERYTHING was on point, from the food and drinks to the dog-friendly patio and staff. I never thought of having Loco Moco for breakfast but now I gotta. It wasn’t as rich and heavy as I thought it was going to be. Perfect. We also had to have the Taiwanese egg crepe and finish off with the Japanese pancake, which looked impressive and jiggly. So light. Other brunch food items include cold sesame noodles, tonkatsu sando, and black truffle fried rice. The cocktail menu was styled like the @eat_mbpost one where it says the style the cocktail is made in to give people an idea of what they’re in for. We had the Mai Tai variation with guava purée, the mezcal sour with sichuan peppercorn-infused mezcal, and the margarita with coconut-washed tequila. That marg was my fave of the trio.
