Most families need two incomes to survive, yet we live in a society that makes it almost impossible for many mothers to work. We want to ask you WHY?! Why do we have the second most expensive childcare system in the developed world? Why are childcare workers paid minimum wage when they are educating our precious little humans? Why is parental leave just 47% of minimum wage? Is it so children are born into poverty? whilst dads and same sex parents are lucky to have 2 weeks to bond with their child? Why can we not access flexible working when we need this to manage the unpaid work which keeps society spinning. Mr Sunak, we know that you are ambitious but we want you to be ambitious for women too. You’ve got a tough job on your hands with the uk economy in crisis which is why we are here to remind you that you will never have growth unless you liberate the power and the skills of women. All we want is the infrastructure that enables us to raise our kids whilst not being pushed into poverty. If you give us that, we will give you our skills and we will raise your future workforce.
