Introducing Alma, my very first product collaboration working with one of my favourite British brands Original BTC @originalbtc The journey began with a trip to their Bone China factory in Stoke on Trent. Understanding the work that goes into each shade and closely observing the almost ethereal quality of bone china emerging from clay to kiln was hugely inspiring. Following this visit I designed (unbeknownst to me) one of @originalbtc most labour intensive products to date, each shade featuring 41 hand-made holes. The process of it being made is shown in this video and really sums it up. One of the best moments was seeing Caroline, who makes an appearance towards the end, painting the coral shade. It took over 40 goes to get this colour right, red is extremely challenging to pin point as a glaze (as it turns out) but the team at Original BTC patiently persevered for which I’m grateful!
