Some tips for sneaking meaningful things into your everyday. ⁣ ⁣ ~ nourish yourself without phones or television. ⁣ Instead of reducing hours on devices as an addiction, see it as loss of connection to the world around you, and therefore an opportunity to heal that. Looking back, the times I felt most stuck scrolling on my phone were the times I felt the most unsafe with either myself or those around me. The act of nourishing yourself is empowering and leads to self-trust.⁣ ⁣ ~ use old cards as bookmarks. ⁣ I like to leave them in the books I read because I scribble little notes all over them and the card stays tucked inside like a little memory. This is a birthday card from my newphew’s.⁣ ⁣ ~ use dish washing time as meditation.⁣ Somedays cleaning can feel really overwhelming and that’s okay, but when it doesn’t, think of it as a cleansing act rather than a chore. You’ll find more reflective moments everyday.⁣ ⁣ ~ carry little notebooks to reclaim expression with your hands.⁣ In such a tech heavy world, we are losing our ability to hand-write our thoughts and draw out our dreams. Take some tech-free moments to not care about being artistic but rather allowing your hands to release doodles and letters. ⁣ ⁣ ~ align the things you love with the morning light. ⁣ A bright kitchen towel, a candle holder, dried flowers - Let the sun shed light everyday on the things that make you smile as little reminders of all the beauty you’ve already accumulated. ⁣ ⁣ ~ clear your calendar daily for sunrise and sunset. ⁣ There is something about the universe meeting you eye to eye every morning and evening that makes you stare both your beauty and your mistakes in the face. ⁣ ⁣ Grateful for the rest + reflection had while visiting @sugarloafretreat on the ancestral lands of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla, Nisenan peoples.
