Sausage and Gravy Breakfast Casserole🎄
This is the perfect Christmas morning breakfast!! I’m telling you… it’s sooo good and easy!! Make it the night before if you’d like!
Ingredients
Sausage and Gravy:
•1 lb hot breakfast sausage
•1/2 tsp salt
•1 tsp pepper
•1/2 tsp onion powder
•1/2 tsp garlic powder
•1/3 cup flour
•3 1/2 cups whole milk
Eggs:
•7 eggs
•1/3 cup whole milk
•1/2 tsp salt
•1/2 tsp pepper
•3 to 4 cups frozen shredded hashbrowns
•8 pack biscuits
•2 to 3 cups shredded cheddar
•hot sauce
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat up a dash of oil or butter in a pan and cook your breakfast sausage. When it’s almost fully cooked, add your salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. After a few minutes, add in your flour. Stir until it’s fully incorporated and let that cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
Add in the milk roughly one cup at a time, stirring in between. Scrape the bottom for flavor that’s stuck to the pan. Let it come to a simmer and thicken for a few minutes. Turn off the heat when it’s your desired consistency.
Whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.
Cut up your biscuits into fourths.
Grease your 9 x 13. The deeper the dish the better. If it’s super shallow, it may overflow a little bit.
Add in your frozen hashbrowns first, then the biscuits, then the eggs, then half of the cheese, then your sausage and gravy mixture, then the rest of the cheese!
If you’re making it the night before, stop there and put it in the fridge.
Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes.
